CHALLENGER BUDDY YMCA of Greater Kansas City

Make a Difference by Volunteering as a Challenger Buddy

 Want to make a difference in someone's life? Volunteer for the YMCA Challenger program for kids with physical, developmental and intellectual disabilities. There are almost 30,000 kids in the Kansas City Metropolitan area with a disability, and the YMCA is only one of a handful of organizations that have programs year round.  Challenger helps participants to learn new skills, participate in
individual and team activities, build friendships, and have fun.

 YMCA Challenger Flag Football
Are you ready for some football?!

 


Volunteers are needed for our upcoming Flag Football session for the YMCA Challenger Program.  It is our inaugural season of Flag Football, just in time for fall!

Locations for program sessions:
Mondays, August 30 - October 11, 6-7pm at Truman High School.- Jackson
Tuesdays, August 31 - October 5, 6-7pm at East Gate Middle School-
Northland
Wednesdays, September 1- October 6, 6-7pm at Arrowhead Administrative
Center- Johnson/South

Training:
We have two volunteer training opportunities that will go over this
session's details, but also give you general information about
Challenger, the YMCA of Greater Kansas City- and hear from a special
presenter who will give us insight on working with people who have
disabilities.

Even if you are unable to volunteer for these sessions, you are still
invited to attend the training opportunity; and you may leave after the
general information/presentations portion.  Please let me know if you
would like to attend, and at which location.
