Community Partner City of KCMO, General Services Department Semester Spring 2010 Dates Monday, January 11, 2010 to Thursday, April 22, 2010 Days: Sun Mon Tue Wed Thurs Fri Sat Negotiable Time 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM Details: Volunteer internship opportunity available with the City of KCMO, General Services Department, Facility Services Division. The intern will be responsible for researching industry best practices in facility management and creating an Operations Manual for the Facility Services Division. The intern will collaborate with staff in order to gain an understanding of the division’s roles, responsibilities and challenges of providing services. The end product of the internship will be a manual which documents operational procedures. The manual must be suitable for operational use and publication via the Facility Service intranet site. Preferences: The student must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Students majoring in communications, marketing, business administration or public administration preferred.
